Help Me Decide

I need to choose between these two photos. I like them both for various reasons, I feel each has its strengths and its weaknesses.

So I turn to the 365ers, which one do you like the best, think is the strongest.

I dislike the smoke causing softness, but like that she's looking at me and smiling, and that you can see she's turning the spit

I like the color, and that he's got his face covered, don't like that he's not looking at me, or that it looks like he's just sitting there even though his hand is on the spit turn.

Thanks all, figured that's the way it'd go down. Hopefully if my application is accepted I'll have better access to the festival and wont be limited to standing behind the ropes and fences that ruined my shots of the jousting!
