Help me pick my paint!

Ok, I need your help. Obviously every monitor will be different but I need you guys to help me pick my paint!

The darkest color on the bottom card (wheat bread) is the color of our living room and I love it. I cannot see any yellow and its exactly what I like. I have 2 bonus rooms upstairs. We are painting the playroom the same color (wheat bread) for eventual resale reasons, as the stairwell is very high and will be hard to do. My office is connected to the playroom and I want to paint one of the other colors.

Pick a bluish color in the bottom or middle rows!! Problem I'm having is I don't want to walk up and see blue...I wanted it gray with a hint of blue, but not too gray like my husband wants ;)

After seeing the first two suggestions, I'm not sure if this will be helpful...I like the middle one and bottom one on the card on the left!

Don't paint all walls too dark, and make sure you're looking at the cards on the walls throughout the day. The color of the sunlight will look different morning noon and night. Also be sure at it under whatever artificial light you'll have in that room. Halogen, incandescent, fluorescent, or LED they'll all affect it differently.

We'd picked a great greenish color to go as our feature wall in the master (sea sage I think), unfortunately it looks rather washed out and dull under incandescent light (I'm allergic to fluros but it'd probably be ok under a daylight rated).

Best thing to do is tape up your colors of choice on each wall and be sure to visit each room a few times during the day. Took us (ok me) about a week to pick our main wall color, and a few days for the tv wall. Master got rushed but it's ok since we're not normally in there with the lights on ......errr... well we're sleeping you know!

For resale reasons though, paint as light as you can. Makes the room seem bigger and is less likely to make people think eerrrrgggggg if they don't like it. Yes they can always repaint, but as someone that's bought a lot of houses in the past 4 years (and lived in even more!) repainting isn't what people think of when looking even though they know they will, and not somethign a lot of people want to do right away. Plus a lighter color will be easier for the new owners to paint over than even a rather light dark color IME.

Dear Paint Princess: Top, left card - middle color. (I like that entire card the best.) Be hesitant of the Top, Middle card - Middle color. Your best bet would be to narrow down to two colors... get paint samples and paint two big patches near a window (one because of the lighting and two so you can see it against your trim color). Live with those for a bit. My guess is Top, left card - middle color, will win. Have fun with it!! =) Sincerely: MA Interior Designer
