Yesterday morning, my son's 11 year old friend was credited with saving his family's life after a fire broke out in their home. It was 3am when he smelled smoke, and alerted his parents who were sleeping. The boy's uncle jumped from a third floor window and suffered a broken leg. The family lost everything.
My son's school is collecting monetary donations to assist the family. I wouldn't normally post something like this on here, but since my son is friends with this boy, I figured it couldn't hurt. If this is offensive to anyone, I apologize.
I am a firefighter, and was off on the night of the fire. But, I did go to the fire with my cameras. I did not know at the time that this boy lived in that house.
