nikon s4100 vs s4000 and eye-fi / ipad questions

does anyone else have a nikon s4100? my 4000 had a slight.... incident and i replaced it with the 4100. it seems that the focus just is not there, often ends blury and seems slower to response than the 4000 and curious if anyone else has had similar issues.

also, just got an ipad2 and thinking of an eye-fi mobi card for my cam to transfer pics straight to the ipad, then to computer later, but being new to the half eaten fruit logo side of things i am not sure if that is a good idea, or works, or any of the such. a friend of mine knows a lot about the ipads, but the cost would be wayyyy to great to ask them due to the ribbing between android and apple in the past. not that i ever instigated any of that type of behavior. that would be as bad as swapping nikon vs canon comments between friends, that would never happen

i am using filterstorm app for editing, and beginning to get the hang of it, but think a stylus will make it much easier. any others have experiences similar, or knowledge on the eyye-fi or ipad2?

I'm not sure you can send direct to iPad from an eye-fi card, the last I heard people were using their Android phones as hotspots and connecting both to it - however this may be different with the iPad 2

It's still possible, however getting a netbook might be a better option for handiness and price, you'd get the same functionality for the eye-fi and a good bit more over the iPad, even throw PS CS2 on to one, it might not be lightning but handy to have.

For a stylus, pretty much everything Wacom makes is decent to great from my experience, whether or not an iPad stylus combo would work I have no idea

For the focus I know that there's a degree of "tuning" between lens and camera that can be adjusted by manufacturer , though if the AF is just plain wrong often I'd call it under warranty or fault in general...

I use "The iPad Camera Connection Kit gives you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera: using your camera’s USB cable or directly from an SD card. iPad and the Camera Connection Kit support standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4." and have been very happy with it. I did have some issues with the video I imported from my little Kodak waterproof video cam that I need to figure out, but for just straight photos it works great.

For a stylus, try going to Amazon and reading the reviews. There are some that are much more highly rated than others. You will love the iPad once you get used to it :)

@killerjackalope i will tinker a bit with it before i give up on the 4100. the downfall with netbook is i have had one, but ran into situations where i thought images were on that and not my main laptop, and vice versa, now dump into main laptop. i was thinking more towards using the eye-fi for point and shoot fun things, to try keeping them separate and easier to be within reach, but my outlook is beginning to change with all the online options lately @ronah i ordered a super cheap stylus off ebay, mainly to get a feel for a stylus, and a bit more time to get used to the ipad. i did not realize there was a lot of difference in the stylus options and quality, my last main experience with stylus was really in the old palm computing days (wow that dates me a bit) and they all operated about the same @marilyn i will check into that, i think i am really liking the ipad, and am finding i can use it for making my life easier in all sorts of ways so far, just a bit odd getting used to a different way of thinking / computing. so far my only disappointments have been no flash support on websites, not a great camera on it, and i have been spoiled by swype keyboard on my android, on the flipside, i have been very impressed overall with it.
