I used my Sony 8gb card this morning. It was read fine by my d3100 and computer/card reader. I take it out of the card reader this afternoon, put it in my d3100, nothing. I get "No SD Card inserted."
I put in the 2gb Scandisk card I have. The d3100 reads it just fine. No problems. My computer and card reader still pick up the 8gb card. The Coolpix camera I have reads the 8gb card just fine. Pics are still there as well.
Any ideas what is causing the conflict between my 8gb card and my d3100? I've tried just about everything I can think of and have gotten no where with it. Atleast I know the d3100 is still reading cards.
Hi Brandie, not sure if it's hardware, but an advise I found about memory cards is that once you've downloaded the pics, do a memory card format as this prevents the card from being corrupted. Try reformating the 8gb card on the Coolpix then reinsert back to the D3100, hope it helps.
sorry to hear that Brandie, looks like it's the card which is faulty already, better not use it anymore as you might loose important pics in the future, regards.
This happened to me a couple of weeks ago... after screaming at the bloody camera and card for 10 minutes.. and played with it . in and out, in and out.. gave it to a co worker and wouldnt you know it , it worked..... ugh ..
