I can't answer the first question, but Daily Shoot closed down a few weeks ago. Here's a link to the last assignment, can't seem to find the main page to access the blog with the reasoning. I think it was just that it was becoming outdated and they couldn't keep integrating with updated versions of sites without it becoming too much work for a non-profit-making venture. http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/690
I use a 40mm equivalent every day so i've unintentionally done this project as well! It's great to use one prime, after a while you can easily "see" a shot before lifting your camera - it really helps!
its the only lens i use (i have a kit lens but never use it) - I love my 50mm, I feel it makes me think more about composition and a whole heap of other things
About 90% of my pictures are with my 50mm. Mine is a F1.8 too. I LOVE it. I guess i would like to have the F1.4 for low light situations...but I don;t feel like I need it.
i just thought that after finishing the 36 project i would try a different one i have started a 52 week project i also would like to try a 50/50 i also might try and create another one which im working on(not a day on day one) all just to stay creative and open the "box" more
