Smudge on lense! HELP!!!

November 30th, 2011
I have a Powershot SX130 IS and have recently discovered a smudge on the lense that is seemingly not just wiping off....Stupidly I tried to fog it and then wipe by breathing on it :( The fog faded but the smudge did not. Is there anything I can do? Thanks! Kris

@kvanhorn What are you trying to wipe it with? And do you have any idea what made the smudge? Oil, grease, paint, etc.?

Try some lens cleaner from a camera store.

@beautifulthing I'm not sure but I'm prtty sure one my toddlers had someting to do with it. Honestly, it could even be yogart residue for all I know....I tried to wipe it with a t-shirt....Rookie move I'm sure;)

@kvanhorn Well, if it's just yogurt, scrape it off with your nail. :) What @dmortega said about lens cleaner will work too. Get some of that and a Qtip and there you go.

@kvanhorn Don't huff on it whatever you do, breathing on gear is bad, you can get stuff growing in your lenses.

Rubbing Alcohol and a cotton swab........works every time. The alcohol always dries off completely too. Give it a shot
