As some of you know, I tried to get a photo of some rather large frog statues that normally wear scarves in the winter. Sadly, this year the frogs are forced to freeze...no scarves. But I still wanted to show you guys a pic of the scarf-wearing frogs, so I googled and lo and behold, I found a blog of a woman who could be any one of us! The blog story is about her well-timed car ride to chase a train for photos under the famed frog bridge, I loved it and thought I'd share, Don't forget to notice the frogs in scarves, They almost made her forget her train. :-)
@5unflow3r@espyetta@httpgeffed@aikiuser I clicked on the link and also emailed the mayor with our concerns about the frogs having no scarves this winter... I will post here any response I get. :)
@5unflow3r - I just thought of a funny connection. You talk about frogs wearing a scarf and short while ago I posted a shot of the "frogs neck" bridge. Haha. Did we talk about these frogs back then?
@5unflow3r I live fairly close to these frogs....in fact, my husband lived practically next door to them for a few years. I am sad to hear no scarves this year! Thanks for sharing the link! It is great info about Willy.
@5unflow3r - this is the link http://365project.org/michaelelliott/365/2011-10-19 and this was my comment "Connects the NYC boroughs of Queens and The Bronx and is where the Long Island Sound meets up with the East River. As a kid I couldn't pronounce "Throgs" so I always called it "Frogs" and still do today (though I can now pronounce it properly of course)." So many people refer to it as the frogs' neck bridge.
When you talked about it yesterday, it didn't sink in where you were talking about. Our nephew graduated in May from Bryant University. During the four years he was there, I occasionally drove by this bridge just to take pictures of the frogs and I do have one of them in scarves.
Trina and MaryBeth, I also have a frog that is scarfless, if anyone is in Corvallis, OR please save him!
