cannot attach head to tripod

December 26th, 2011
my husband bought me a konig photo KN-Trihead50 tripod head for Christmas. We cannot work out how to attach it to my Silk tripod - the thread sizes between the tripod and head are not compatable, I assume the head is meant to screw onto the the top of existing tripod (ie where I currently screw the camera to the tripod) or have we missed something? Unfortunately the tripod head was bought too long ago to be returned and it does not come with any instructions. Any suggestions?

When I upgraded to a Manfroto tripod, I noticed the threads were larger than my old tripod, so I had to by a new (larger) head to fit it. An adapter screw is an easy and inexpensive solution. At least the head you have now will grow with you if you ever upgrade to a larger tripod

Yep, when I bought my tripod they asked me what thread size my camera was. I didn't know so they gave me an adapter. I've bought a gorillapod that also came with the same adapter. Look to be a $1 item :)

Dale and Michael thanks for your responses, I have ordered online what I hope will be the right adapter screw and am glad to hear that my new head should fit as and when I buy a better tripod :-)
