had Lightroom for 10-15min, and am already addicted! (tips please?)

I have only had the program installed for a few minutes, but I'm already amazed with it! Took this old photo, and made it "pop" pretty quickly, and I have NO idea what I'm doing yet! LOL! Anyone want to share your favorite "wish I'd know that sooner!" tips with me?!? Thanks!

Tip #1: Shoot RAW format - import your files as the Adobe .DNG format. This will give you a LOT more editing ability.

Tip #2: learn and love the graduated filters and the adjustment brush - use the presets to get an idea of how they work

Tip #3: learn and love the spot removal tool - great for sensor dust, skin blemishes, etc.

Tip #4: Your original photo is undamaged! This is the best part of LR in my opinion. You can edit the hell out of a photo, export it, and then revert back to the original if you want.

Tip #5: use the Flickr / Facebook uploader in the Library and add tags etc via the library. You can also edit a ton in the exif in LR.

What is the difference between Lightroom and Photoshop?

@100summits - Thank you so much! (I think I need to take a class in LR and PSE ;) I got both, and feel very inadequate!!)

@annehans LR is much more catered to easy editing... and is also a way to organize your photos in a library. I also find it to be very intuitive unlike PS.

@100summits thanks Matt. I typically do a lot of my fast edits in Bridge/Cam Raw..then go to PS. I have heard good things about Lightroom, but mostly about it's storing system
