OK ... What actually happens when people tag you with an @ tag? Other sites send me notifications when this happens. And on this site I've read people who say "tag @soandso so that they'll see your comment".
Well I'm an Ace member & I have all my notification options set to yes. But I've never received a message of any sort saying that I've been tagged or replied to.
Anybody have some enlightenment on this issue?
Thanks!

The ace notifications pertain to your posts only. If someone comments on your photo or discussion you get notified which would be sent to your e-mail account. If you comment on someone else's photo or discussion and they respond using the @tag, the notification is only in the 365 site. The way to know that you have a notification on the 365 site is the "conversation bubble" icon next to the "blog" link on the top right of the page. If that bubble is a dark black color then you have a notification, you can click on that and it will take you to your notifications. If the bubble is a gray color, you have no notifications.
I took me a while to find it too, but if you hover over the little grey speech bubbles icon in the top navigation bar of the site, your notifications pop up including anything where you've been tagged.
Also note that there are a few places where notifications won't be generated:
- adding a @tag into a photo description/caption/title won't notify the person
- adding @one when editing a post in a discussion thread won't notify them either
And, of the remaining places (adding new discussion posts, adding new photo comments to either your own or anyone else's photos) where you can add them, you must make sure there are no extra characters touching either side of the @tag; such as that semi-colon right there, that'd prevent the site from realising there was a @tag there and it wouldn't generate a notification. Same with the full stop (or "period" if you're in Americaland) at the end of this @sentence. The user "@sentence" would not have been notified about that usage (nor this one with the quotes either side). @tags must have spaces both sides (or be the very first/last word of a post, with no punctuating characters).
