We all want to improve our photography, so let's put our money where our mouths are!
I've used random.org to select three random dates from 2011 (sorry newbies). The challenge is to pick one of these dates, and re-shoot that photo with the goal to improve on it. Use what you've learned so far, critique people have given you, or go read up on it!
Here are your 3 calendar dates:
Friday, February 11, 2011
Friday, May 13, 2011
Sunday, June 12, 2011
They were picked randomly out of 181 possible dates between Saturday, January 1, 2011 and Thursday, June 30, 2011. (thank you @terek55 for the seasonal time of year idea. Haven't even thought of that!)
Tag your photos with randomdate2 to enter. Link back to your original photo in the caption section of your entry photo.
I will choose a top 5 on March the 3rd, then everyone can vote. Only one photo per date please (per person).
You may post your photos here, but remember only correctly tagged photos will be entered. >Good luck!
How random is this. I looked back to both May 13th and June 12th and had two pink flower shots, and on Feb 11th I had a bouquet mosaic. I guess I am lucky that I just got a dozen gerber daisies for Valentines Day in Hot Pink.
I like this idea. SO - I guess you don't have to necessarily use the same people in the shot, just redo the theme of the photo, or how close to the original photo do we need to be?
@amesjo You don't have to be absolutely precise. The idea is to take a step back and realize there is room for improvement. be it a terrible pose or just filling in some shadows, as long as you can state what you did wrong and what you did to improve it, and everyone can see your improvements by looking at the two pics. if you're not learning, then there's really just no point.
Hmmm...Will only do the first date (which was lips marks on a mirror), because the other two dates would be very hard to replicate (one is a GCSE Art set up and the other is a Rainbow!).
and even then id have to sketch it - not sure i have that much time atm :(
1. A sunset in the New South Wales Blue Mountains
2. A rusty old truck in an Oregon ghost town
3. A bridge in Portland, Oregon
I guess this is not a great challenge for those who travel a lot...looking forward to seeing everyone's improved pics though!
Keep them coming everyone... just about 4 days left!
