Another Question About Themes and Comps

August 11th, 2012
I realize that many of the competitions ask for photo submission to be those during the timeframe of the competition...but what about other themes or comps that do not specify timeframes. For example, I saw that someone posted: Please post a pic of your rescue animal... so...should the photo be something that has already been posted on 365? The same week on 365? Or is this something from one's photos that are not necessarily on 365? Make sense? Thanks.

Sometimes people just post threads of themes they are interested in for fun. They are themed but not really theme competitions...just something they want to see. "Show me your pictures of horses" or something. I did a thread on pictures of feet a few months back for example. On those threads they just want to see anything in your project that suits the theme.
For ones that are competitions they usually need to be taken the week of.

@edie Yes, I understand the "theme" concept - just didn't know if it had to be current week's photos or something from your files. Thanks. :-)

No, it's a place to share what you have already added to your project. Go through your pictures and get the code from the share box and post it onto the thread. These are just for fun.

re your last line, the photo has to be on 365 to add it to a thread.

thanks everyone . Got it! That's what I thought. There have been themes that I would have loved to participate in -- but I'm so new there aren't enough photos in my 365 files to work with... @sunnygreenwood @dmortega

haha, you're hooked ... btw, becoming ace gives you two more albums of pics ...

@sunnygreenwood What other advantages do you enjoy about being ACE...
August 11th, 2012
i can't remember all of them but the ones that stick out in my mind are the extra albums, the stats/fav info. and the original file backups. my ace just ran out ... i should renew it, if for no other reason than to support the site.

@sunnygreenwood Well that's a valid point -- just to support the site. It's so unique and very clever...and I look forward to learning from this site and all the incredible folks here. So many look like pros -- it's amazing how awesome their work is. Will consider. Thanks.
