Mad minute word - mesonoxian

The idea of Mad Minute Words is simple: we present a strange (and/or lovely) word to you, and you draw from it as inspiration for your photo... to keep it acceptably mad, we're doing two words a week, one presented on Monday and another on Friday.

your photo for today's word should be posted on Wednesday, May 22nd...

the word i have chosen for you is:

Mesonoxian - meaning 'of or related to midnight'.
Example - "My dear, you are not a mesonoxian vampire. Smile, and embrace the day."

@dh Hi there! I am a bit confused. Maybe I did not understand how the challenge and hosting worked. I hosted the last one (mickle) and thought I was supposed to pick my fav pic's photographer for the next challenge? Early this morning I notified Catherine (the one with the pic of the Mickle of Prickles) to host the challenge that would be posted today. She asked me about particulars of hosting, and before she got her word up, I see you have posted this one....So I am not sure what is going on????

@northy Hey there! I just hunted around a bit and saw that you'd asked dh to host the next Mad Minute? I had chosen Catherine, who did the Mickle of Prickles photo. uh oh! I did not mean to do it wrong...I thought I was supposed to pick the next one...no?

@espyetta You ask your favourite to host the next Friday-Sunday thing. This is now the Monday-Wednesday thing. :D

In other words, you should pick your favourite mickle probably tomorrow or thereabouts and invite the photog to host the one where the word is posted on Friday and the shot on Sunday.

And yes, it is indeed mad. :D

sounds like you've all got it sorted... yup - totally mad... we basically leapfrog on the challenges because we've got two going each week :)

Okay, I get what you guys are saying! I was confused! If you host a Friday/Sunday Mad Minute, you don't select the host of the NEXT Mad Minute, you select the host of the next Mad Minute that was the same days as yours. So I did a Friday/Sunday one, so Catherine will too!? I think I got it! This TRULY is mad! :0) I love the word! Never heard of mesonoxian. I am thinking of how to maybe try to participate! This could be hard...

@espyetta yep - you got it! my problem with words is that i immediately go into free association and end up somewhere bizarre... and then have to lay a cookie crumb trail so folks can figure out how i got there ;p

Hey guys...you will find this funny. This last week of schoolteaching got me so "mad" that I confused my themes and competitions! In haste,Iposted a pic the other day for the "ETSOOI10- midnight challenge!" Which of course doesn't exist...but did not know that at the time. Now, all has calmed down...school is out for summer and please tag me for any Mad Minutes you do. :0) I will go find my "Midnight ETSOOI " pic to post here...for a lark.
