A reminder of the rules.
"All editing must be done with a RAW processor, using no other software or plugins" - so either Lightroom, Adobe Camera RAW, the RAW processing software that came with your camera, but nothing else that does more than RAW processing - no NIK plugins, no compositions, no other editing other than RAW processing. This differentiates it from WWYD, where any editing goes"

@frankhymus nice entry Frank. Agreed, awkward as shot, needs a crop to trim the overpowering hedges on the right. Bonus points for retaining as much of them as possible.
@frankhymus Why is there such a difference in the vignette effect? Is there something in your RAW processor to clear that, or something in Ian's that brought it out?
I sure don't know what I'm doing. It looks very different on my computer when editing than it does once it's uploaded. I was trying for "natural"...the color of a clear sunny afternoon.
@houser934 I like your version, it is natural. This site does some strange conversion to images when it creates the different sizes. If you include a link to the original upload others can see the colors you have on your monitor. If you need help adding the link, let me know.
So, just because...I tried another version bringing out the yellow to make it a "sunset" shot. This was fun. I am beginning to see what the RAW editor can do.
@houser934 I just treated it as an extended "spot" and removed the vignette in the top right with the extended spot capability of ACR 8.3. There didn't seem to be any left in the other positions after I got through with it. In the Lens Correction panel of ACR there is a vignette editor. Also a "post crop" vignette control in the Effects tab that works well too, vignetting for the crop. But I didn't use any of those since the effect in the image is very asymmetric.
@acloserlookpbd cropping is ok, but I am giving preference to entries that manage to deal with the bushes on the right without completely removing them. The main idea of this challenge is to extract detail and color from the image. Explore the graduated filters and the highlights and shadows sliders.
@lisatown what version of ps do you have? The picture was taken with a Pentax K-5, which is a three years old, so I assume you are more up to date than that, but have you updated recently to get the latest camera profiles? Try downloading the file again, it might be corrupt.
Thanks for the reply Daniel. I have an older version PS3. I wonder if that's the problem? I haven't done any investigating online yet... Just thought someone here might have a quick fix for me.
@danielwsc
I've uploaded my effort to my page with the tag rawcomp11. Do I need to do anything else to bring it to your attention or post it here. If so how do I do it? In case you can't tell I'm new to this. :)
@lisatown Hi Lisa. That is a fairly old version of PS. I saved the raw file using a new-ish feature of DNGs, lossy compression. I think if you get the latest version of Camera Raw you should be able to open it. Although Adobe might not support PS3 any more.
Have you thought about Adobe CC for Photographers? $10 / month gets you the latest version of PS and LR, for as long as you keep up the subscription. You still qualify for the special offer (it's normally $20 / month) because you have a PS3 license.
@jfrancis6 Hi Jesse, thanks for participating! You don't need to do anything else, I found your entry (which is darn good btw!) by clicking on the tag. If you want to post your image in this discussion, copy and paste the share code under the tags. It starts with

I don't know if it's allowed but I thought I'd post a different version. This one I did in Lightroom. The other one I did was in Adobe Camera Raw.
