Challenge, Haiku-6

March 23rd, 2014
What is Haiku?
According to dictionary.com - a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons.

I enjoy writing poetry, and I have enjoyed learning about Haiku. I'm not the best at it, but I find it to be an interesting form that challenges preciseness in communication. Matching an image to it is a bit of reversal to the typical fashion of writing the haiku to an image. It should be fun, and hopefully a challenge.

What to do:

1. I'll post a Haiku that I authored each week.

2. You find a take a photograph during that week that fits the Haiku.

3. Make sure that you tag your photograph haiku-xx, where xx is the number listed in the subject for this week.

4. I'll select 5 finalists and post them for votes from the public.

5. The photograph that receives the most votes in a week, wins the bragging rights. (sorry, I'm out of new cars)

6. We'll do it all over again with another Haiku from me, next week.
