August 5th, 2014
I am very pleased to have won the last technique challenge. Thank you to @jantan for organising it and thank you to everyone who voted for my picture. It is my great honour to host the next challenge. Here are the subjects we have covered so far:

1. Low key
2. Motion blur
3. Split toning
4. Flipped reflections
5. Long exposure
6. Professional looking portraits
7. Mini portraits
8. Rim lighting
9. High/fast shutter speed
10. Vintage in modern
11. Double/multiple exposure
12. Forced perspective
13. Zoom burst
14. Multiplicity
15. Panning photography
16. ICM
17. Shaped bokeh
18. B&W
19. High key
20. In the night
21. One-light lighting
22. Refractions
23. Selective color
24. Tilt-shift
25. Into the sun/flare photography
26. white background
27. macro photography
28. Shooting blind

For the next challenge I have decided to concentrate on a compositional technique - framing. By that I don't mean a border which is added in post-processing, but instead using other objects in your photograph to frame the main subject, for example looking through a window or archway, or using trees to frame a view. For a more in depth explanation or further inspiration please try here:

This challenge starts today, Tuesday 5th August, and will run until Sunday 16th August. Photos to be considered for the challenge should be taken and posted within that time frame. Please tag your shots technique29.

Constructive & kind feedback is encouraged. Feel free to share tips, suggestions or how you were able to get the terrific photo you did. Posting your photo on this thread is encouraged but not required.

Have fun and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

What a great challenge. I hadn't realised how often I instinctively do this! Looking at some of the examples in your links reminded me of so many shots I've taken myself over the years. I'm looking forward to doing a few more. Thanks.

@not_left_handed THANK YOU! I tried editing my original post (on Aug 9th) by adding technique29. Nothing happened; no picture here. Do I need to delete my original and start over? Sorry - I'm new at this & this is my first challenge attempt! Hope not my last!

@iwantanewcamera59 Oh, I'm sorry - didn't realize you wanted to post a picture here - that's easy as well. Click on your picture and underneath your description you'll see three dots - click on that. An Embed Code will come up. Highlight that code and hit Control C (to copy). Then come back here and hit Control V (to paste). Your code will paste into here and once you hit post reply, it will be your picture. Hope that helps! And your picture is tagged correctly - I saw it among all the other tagged pictures for the challenge. Nicely done! Here’s mine:
