Thank you all for participating in the Mundane Bubble Challenge (brought to us by @amyleewinfield) and for voting my Tight Crop image to win. It was an interesting and fun challenge.
Being new to the 365 Project and to the challenge, I have been pondering the new topic and hope I am on track with my choice. The new topic will be Candles
Candles present unique challenges of capturing the mood, the flicker, the details, perhaps less than ideal lighting levels and more. I'll be excited to see all the different approaches on this topic when judging who to place in the final!!
The only rule says "There can be no question that the item in the challenge is the star"
You are free to use any photographic technique you would like to use to capture this mundane object, and then edit it appropriately.
Please tag your entries mundane-candles
The starting date is today, Thursday Jan 22th, 2015 and will run through to the end of Wednesday January 28th , 2015.
Voting will start shortly after the finalists are selected and will last for a couple of days, and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
Your entry must be taken within the challenge time frame to be considered as a finalist.
Feel free to post your entries on this thread as well to inspire others.

Here's my attempt. This is definitely a challenge! It is difficult to get the proper exposure with the bright light of the candle as the focal point. Thanks for the challenge!
This was perfect because I just picked up a bunch of candles in case we lose power in the blizzard we're expecting tomorrow...the stores were out of flashlights...
Here is my attempt - I found it more difficult than I had expected. However I enjoyed trying and as a beginner the mundane theme has been a great way to challenge myself and I am learning heaps!

I have another that I took after this to publish tomorrow, but this is the first I took that I liked.
