Loni won last weeks Vivid theme, a big well done to her!
How about "sun flair" as the next theme? I've always made it a habit to tilt my lens just right, letting a little sun flair in my shots to see what I would get. I've managed some pretty interesting images of landscapes, portraits, etc. I'd love to see what others could come up with, too.
lol - I have NO idea how to use editing programs except to crop, rotate, brighten and maybe level a bit ... so for me it's nearly always SOOC. easy one - cheers.
Now wait a sec...there's a big snow storm coming and an advisory warning until at least Tuesday. There won't be any sun where I'm from! Where am I supposed to get flare from!!?? Lol, I'm just kidding (well, not about the storm, but about the complaining!)
Congrats to Loni and great theme. I LOVE lens flare!!
YEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lens flare is my favorite :) well, not my favorite, but I lOVE it! great pick Loni, and congrats!
@kcphotography - hahahaha yea theres gonna be a snow storm here too... very little sun. but when that sun DOES peek out from beind the clouds... you bet I'll be out there in a flash with my camera pointed towards the sky! ;D
......lense flare will be almost impossible up here in Norway where we are in the darkest of the dark season........and not much blue sky to see at all with all the snowing we are having right now......
@Scrivna Oh yeah! This is a definite good one! I love the occasional flare in the right spot. This will be fun (just hope we actually get some daylight here in the UK this week or will have to pull out some old ones...lol).
Congratulations - timing is pretty grim for us in the Northern hemispere. Might have managed something yesterday but apparently the rest of the week is grey grey grey - I'll look forward to seeing what others come up with.
@misschuff I'm with you...if I get lens flare then it was there in the first place! Your processing sounds a lot like mine :-) Still its seen me through! I just posted one as well....darn!
Thanks for the nice words everyone! Ya, it's pretty cloudy here in the midwest, too, but I know the sun will peek out at some point this week. Plus, as Ross said, you can create lens flare without the sun :-)
Amazing topic! Accidental flares are more fun for those who look at the image, but if your the photograoher, it's good to see what would happen if hte lens was slightly more towards the sun...
You know, I enjoyed chasing the sun these past few days (& cursing, too, because it just won't come out). I took some wishful shots through that old bamboo tree in my street as my neighbors passed by, the photos were awful. & gosh, the mango tree shots just didn't work out well either! I just couldn't figure out how to produce that effin' flare effect! I smelled of damp earth after I tripped. Haha! Oh well, I enjoyed that I twisted myself a little, squinted a lot, & probably sprained my neck, too, just to achieve the effect. Thanks for this amazing theme! I hope my photo will be part of the Top20. lols!
Great theme! And congrats! Loved that pic!!
Congrats to Loni and great theme. I LOVE lens flare!!

I don't think it'll help that there's a blizzard outside... But oh well!
LOL, Now if the Mother Nature would turn off the rain and bless sun the PNW with some sun, I'm in.
Lens flare is interesting... i have to try it one day. I can't join in, I think, since it's winter now... no sun at all.

Getting ready for a trip, so no time for shooting this week. Looking forward to participating more in 2011, when I start my 365.
