Not being an Apple user, I can vouch for none of this, but the "independent" DPReview is not at all dismissive. I have no clue about its support for the multitude of raw file formats, or of its commitment to continuing support of new cameras. But anything to shake up Adobe who have little to no serious commercial competition right now. At least if this is a success, it might force Adobe to react swiftly...

For an introductory one time cost of US$39.99, I would suspect you couldn't go far wrong. If you an Apple person of course.

Thanks for this link Frank. I'm going to have a look. I think Vera @vera365 was using the beta version and might be so kind as to share her opinion of it with us?

Thanks, Clare! @pistache I have been using the beta version since it came out, and - with my limited experience in post-processing - I can tell that I really like it. There were some minor glitches in beta, but I would assume they would fix them in the "real" thing. Having said that I like it.... I have to mention that I have been basically using their very basic tools only (general adjustments). I've just discovered a concept of "layer" and just played with it for a tiny bit, I have not tried anything beyond. So, this is an opinion only of someone who's just dipped his/her toes into it.
