Street-18...starts today!!!!

March 17th, 2016
Thank you @vera365 for hosting Street challenge 17, and thanks to all who voted for my picture! I am honored to host the next challenge, street-18!

A definition of street photography copied from Catherine's original Street Challenge post.

Catching a fleeting moment WHERE THE PRIMARY SUBJECT IS PEOPLE, doing what people do, being what people are and which moves the viewer in some way. Street photography is often B&W, but not exclusively or necessarily so. Contains a human presence & element even if it is architecturally inclined. Often defined as "Unposed scenes in public places": so, no street portraiture where the subject is posing - although they may catch you & look into the camera! It does need to be confined to overtly urban areas - could be a beach.

Very much looking forward to seeing your entries for this round! Feel free to also post them as comments to this discussion thread as inspiration for the ones who may be checking in and thinking of participating.

The particulars:

Start date: March 17th, 2016
End date: March 31st, 2016

I've tagged mine but I'm not sure whether it ticks the "moves the viewer" box. First try though, all a learning process :)

@clearday sorry I am a little slow replying to this.Thank you so much for joining in the street challenge, I know it is not a comfortable genre for many. Love shots looking down, and there is so much to take in on this shot.

@jsmjomo Great faceless candid, I like the addition of the fingers it adds to the story of the shot!

Here's one. You can tell, I do like color for street. Gritty B&W, news-copy-like stuff doesn't appeal to me much.

Not exactly "Street" since they are over 100 feet up. But...
