Okay. Let's be honest... you want people to admire your photographs and skills. This is a good opportunity for you to "resell" them.
You should post something, a picture that you have won an award for. Tell us what award you have won and a description attached to your photo would be nice.
This thread will serve as a virtual gallery for all winners.
No awards... but I've been published in several car magazine spreads and I write for a cat magazine... not sure that counts? Oh oh oh, and a head shot I did was in a city utility managers' magazine.
hope this counts. 'Daily Life' winner for 2009 photography contest for 'Art in the park', Worcester MA. I was surprised out of my skin, since there were so many amazing professional shots there. And then there's me, with my lil canon powershot.
also managed second place in L.B. Wheaton's camera shop contest with another shot :)
No awards, but there was a photography fair and a contest. Over the 3 000 submission they chose around 300 and did an exposition, and this one was chosen. I was soo happy :D (click on the pic to see it bigger).
This made the final round of the Canon Emerging Pro competition. However, because I'm not yet 18, it isn't recognized in the gallery and cannot win. :-(
I have entered a few contests at the local shows and came first. Also this year entered as contest for the local council, and came first for the digital imaging theme.

I've also had a photo published in the teen section of our local newspaper when I was writing for it in high school (it was a small photo on a calendar), and several photos in my community college's newspaper but the staff on that was about five people tops so it wasn't difficult.
@deniseescovino oh wow, thats an honour!! yep 18 in a few months. took that photo about 2 years ago i think. :) so would have been 15-16. wow i didnt even realize i took it that long ago ahah
^Last year, I went to the SkillsUSA state photography competition through my tech school.. I got 3rd place out of 21 other students, the link has some of the photos from that day. I won alot of scholarship money for it :)
Nothing huge, but last year I won "Best Photo of the Year" in my school and it was published in the yearbook. :) Also I got a drawing published in Country Weekly Magazine!!
Many, many moons ago when I was a teen-ager, I won Grand Champion in my division at our County 4-H Fair and also won the County-wide Photography award that year as well. Does that count? The photo was of a branch of yellow delicious apples taken in my Grandfather's orchard. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the photo to post here.

Other than that, I've never entered a competition. Warming up to the idea of throwing in at the APPA's this year though.
