First, thanks to all who voted for my Guido Daniele photo. You made me and my chicken very happy :D
I've chosen artist Chema Madoz this time which I'm sure will be a very fun challenge to keep an eye on, giving the enormous amount of creativity here on 365.
Chema Madoz is a Spanish photographer, best known for his black and white surrealist photographs. Basically he doesn't look at things as what they are, but he looks at the so many potentials these things could have to form something that's usually witty, ironic, and always creative, all using objects we all have within arms reach and probably use daily.
I think Madoz's work is very inspiring, mostly simple subjects in black and white. Your main subject can be anything, the challenge all lies in the idea and how you can see things from different and unusual perspectives.
Challenge starts today Thursday August 4th and will end Tuesday August 16th
Only photos taken during these times will be accepted for the top 5- multiple entries are fine.
Please tag your photos ChemaMadoz
Congratulations Salma! Great choice with the new challenge. I've never heard of this artist but I think I've fallen in love! Thanks for opening me up to something different...I might actually give this one a go!
Although I've never managed to take part in any of the artist challenges so far I love finding out about these cool artists. Maybe I'll try and give it a go this week.
Wow-i love this work-I will try thinking of something creative but it is hard not to just copy his ideas-but this project alwaysmakes you look at everything in a different way-which I love.
Wow, never heard of this photographer before but I'm fascinated now! He does with photography what Walter Gurbo does in drawing and painting. Must check out more . . .
I'd been wanting to do something with this idea since you announced the artist but wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off. With the help of Photoshop and a downloaded background I was able to capture both the unexpected quirkiness of Madoz and my own funky style. This was a fun one!
I'd be very intersted to see whether you think this is a valid entry for the challenge. I was thinking along the lines of shadows of things that aren't really there...but maybe it's too tenuous?!
And this, the original attempt (although I think I prefer the one above...
