I would like to approach my local art gallery but I dont know how to do so please if anyone has done this id appreciate advice on this as well as what are the benefits of having my photography in a gallery for someone wanting to pursue photography as a career
Hi Jacob -
Actually i know nothing really about getting your work in gallery spaces.. but i wonder if you might also consider some other options
- such as talking to your local cafes where art loving people hang out or perhaps where they just like to support young people or people like yourself who are just starting out.
Also - why not create some online spaces for yourself and really use social media....
The trick is to get some work printed and framed then take it along to see if the Gallery likes it.

@brigette these are all excellent ideas ill test them out for sure
Most Galleries work on a commission basis but rates can vary from 30-50%
Also do not be put off by rejections it is a bit of a numbers game.
