I just figured this out last night. I could either:
1) Use picnik to rotate but it then reduced the size dramatically. Does anyone know why it does this?
2) Or I could go into photoshop elements (scaled down version of photoshop). When I brought the picture up it looked correct. I rotate right and then back left and saved. It would then upload correctly.
Most modern phones, especially iPhones, have a built-in EXIF orientation tag in the photo's data. Many older photo software programs have not been updated to utilize this data. Until they do (including this site) results will be haphazard. 365 Project needs to get on this right away; I've had the same issue on my first weeks uploads, and there's no rhyme or reason for this. Some photos taken vertically came through OK, others not. Complete nonsense.
Yep my very first pic has done this and I it looks fine on my Mac before I upload it. Will try opening it in Elements and then reload it and see what happes - thx for the hints

Hi Deana,
That's annoying! I will definitely look in to this.
Thanks
