Love playing with content aware, it's the only thing I've really had a go at so far...

Found two more. :) This first had a couple of stray branches that were in front of the main plant - zapped:

This one had a few stray branches behind the main leaves - I wanted those to be a little more isolated so I filled:

Aaaghh. Photoshop - the bane of my life. I can do more with it than I could a month ago, but still so limited!! I never have the time or patience to really sit down with it and play. I have no idea of what content aware is!

Is content aware included in elements or is only in CS5?
February 7th, 2012
Thanks for the tip Jo,... i didn't know it was there... a lot of time saved cloning..

@ Emma... just been onto Google, content aware is available in Elements 9 and above..

@jinximages Ha - it took me a whole 30 seconds to find what you had done there, the work on the images is that good. Looks seamless. :)

@beautifulthing Thanks Shelly :)

@beautifulthing yes agree that is quite nice. after i read your comment i started stressing that i couldn't find it. :S and then AHA!!!

@jinximages this is amazing! I will def be looking for this on my elements.

@sheg Just be aware that it isn't a magic bullet - it can really mess things up sometimes! Very useful tool, however. And, thank you! :)
February 8th, 2012
@jinximages your welcome, ill have to try it on an older photo.

@jinximages @beautifulthing @joannebradbury You guys are making me think I "NEED" photoshop awfully bad!
February 8th, 2012
@tryeveryday oh but you do need it. I use content aware for A LOT of things. Simple seamless surfaces, for instance, photoshop can complete for you in a second. And photomerge to do panoramas and so on. See an edit example i did on this thread: http://365project.org/discuss/tips-n-tricks/10650/best-editing-photoshop-trick-ever

@gabrielklee WOW!! I'm blown away by all the options! I'm so new to editing. I've been trying a few things on my own, but really need to study up!! Just discovered the clone tool on Picnik a couple weeks ago for crying out loud!! Thanks for the link. Would love to get some critique on some of mine...you know, if you don't have anything better to do. :)

This is a little more than content aware. Also some cloning and spot healing in the greenery.

I agree with @jinximages that it is not a magic bullet but used with the clone tool and the spot healing tool it can make cloning a whole lot easier.

Building on the right deleted and box at the railway line on the left of the train deleted. Edited using the orton slide effect. Got another version before I did the effect.
