3D Photo

February 22nd, 2012
So, my boyfriend and I were talking about my photography the other day while we were watching the new twilight movie.. The scene selection menu is like a photograph, but everything looks 3D. My boyfriend said that'd be cool if you could do that to your photos and he's right! Now I want to do it! It would look awesome! But, idk how to do that. Does anybody know how to do that in gimp or any photo editing software? I tried googling it but all the images I found you would have to be wearing 3D glasses for it to actually be 3D which is not what I want.

I have no idea how to it currently. Back in the old days (1950's), there was a camera that came out called the "Realist". It show 2 images with 2 lenses on the left and the right. It them put them on Glass slides. My parents Wedding was shot this way, and yes, it did pretty good, without all the stupid 3D glasses and stuff.

I have seen a video camera with two lenses which advertises itself as being able to do 3D stills. They are out there I guess.

@bitchin1589 I have a fuji 3D W3 camera that takes stills and video with two lenses. I've also been practising with my Canon 5D with what's known as the cha-cha method. Check our a few of my latest images. Also if you're really into it join a 3d photo forum, they are helpful and lots of tutorials there too.
