Thanks so much! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Christine - I would suggest picking one font for your watermark and trying to stick with it as much as possible. That way it's your trademark. When you have several different looks people won't know if it's your photo or not right away. And when you have one that you use consistanty, people will start associaing that with your photography. :) You can however, change the color of it to correspond to your photo to blend it better. Happy watermarking!
Thats a great tutorial, but I have a tip to add.....after step 10, instead of grouping they can right click on bottom layer and merge visible. then go to edit> define brush preset and that will make a brush to stamp the watermark on the image instead of having to make it everytime or open a saved watermark image.
If the define brush preset is grayed out it means that the image is too big to make a brush, it has to be smaller.
not really Dorrena. Watermarking is simply adding your logo to your image. Adding your logo by using the text box everytime is still water marking. Some people simply put the word proof or sample over the image and reduce the opacity so you can see the image through it. I use my name cause I want people to know who took the picture.
I did this following your directions with PSE8, the only difference was grouping. I am not sure about this so I used Layer merge. It came out OK but now I cannot undo the merge to change color, font etc. I will play with it some more and let you know how I do. THANKS for the tutorial ! !
@Carol - Once you merge the layers you are unable to edit them. Only in grouping can you go back to edit. I'm not familiar with PSE8 though I'm sorry :(

@Amber -Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
The shortcut for the copyright symbol ( © ) is hold ALT+0169, for anyone who wants to add that symbol to their watermark.
