Snapseed Desktop Help, please?!

Anyone know how to Save files from Snapseed using Windows without reducing the dpi to 72???? I try to save images at 300 dpi for printing purposes, just noticed on the EXIF info on one of my photos that it was at 72, went back and looked and all of my Snapseed images are at 72 dpi instead of the 300 my Lightroom images are.

@hopess13 Uh oh! I need to check mine!

@hopess13 I just checked...mine say 72 dpi also! I am going to go hunt the web to see what can be done (at least in the future). That stinks if I wanted to print some. I have not printed pictures in a year and a half, but I may want to..I LOVE snapseed... it produces some great results but 72 dpi is not going to cut it. Let me know if you hear anything...

@hopess13 I don't have the desktop version, but I am reading they both do the same thing with the dpi. I can find almost nothing about this online...one site had a guy asking this but no one ever answered. Read this from http://tooze.wordpress.com/2011/06/18/app-review-snapseed/

he says...
All is not well though…

Snapseed is not without it’s limitations. There’s two that bothers me quite a bit:

1. The inability to work with RAW. The iPad can import RAW files into its photo library, but when you try to import a RAW file into Snapseed, what it does is that it takes a snapshot of the RAW file as it appears in the import dialog, giving you a picture that is 160 x 120 pixels, and at 72 dpi. Hence, you’d need to convert your RAW photos into JPEG before you use them in Snapseed.

2. Snapseed cannot sharpen. There is no sharpening adjustment for use.

Okay, my Snapseed on IPAD has sharpen. But anyway.

And, I don't shoot RAW...I am shooting j pegs unless something went terribly awry with my camera settings..so...it is still reducing them to 72 dpi, but this guy acts like that won't happen...I am not happy ...do not print alot, but want to be able to if I want.

@hopess13 Okay, now in this one...the people are saying (and they sound like pretty good photogs who should know) that the dpi is a moot point now? Why? What does that mean? Check this out.. http://www.fujix-forum.com/index.php?/topic/4194-ipad-imports-72-dpi-and-the-x100/

@northy @hopess13 Also, guys, they said in this article to "turn off your write switch" on the SD card before putting it into the IPAD to be read...how do you do that?
September 10th, 2012
@northy @hopess13 Okay..I think those guys saying dpi is not really a relevant factor may be right. I just did something I have not done in years. I uploaded a photo to snapfish.com. It was one edited in SnapSEED and saying it is 72 dpi, but the file size was huge if I recall. And, Snapfish will put a triangle by any pics that are "too low quality" or "too low resolution" and tell you that they cannot print them...but with this pic I uploaded, it did not.. it is going through fine. So...I think we are okay with what Snapseed is doing? I hope so! I love it and my IPAD!

@espyetta This is SUCH good news!! I adore Snapseed for most things...I usually only use PicMonkey for cloning out random spots or things and I want to be able to print or do the canvas thing for Christmas presents....I was really sweating having to go back and re-edit anything I wanted printed. Thanks for doing the leg work!!!!

@hopess13 Well,Rachel, I hope it is true! But like I said, snapfish was going to print it and they tell you when the pic is not good enough resolution to do so. There was a formula at the End of the article as to how to figure the dpi or something? I may look at that today. But I guess it is probably okay or every one would have gone nuts and told people not to use Snapseed also. I also see that any pic coming out of my iPad that I put on my computer seems to be 72dpi even if it edited n Snapseed.....I guess once print we will know for sure if that "dpi can be irrelevant" is true or not.

From my understanding, DPI is for viewing in PC, the lower the faster upload. For printing, what's important is the LxW ie 3425x5326. So if you want to print a 4x6 pic, 4 multiply 300 and 6 multiply 300 you need atleast 1200x1800. I dont think snapseed changes the size, hope this helps.

@roni Used to be you needed to save it as 300 dpi for printing...or so "THEY" said, but I do know Snapseed does not mess with the size. Thanks! I will keep my fingers crossed that the canvas I just had printed turns out ok :D
September 20th, 2012
@espyetta Did you get your print??? Hoping it came out ok?

Rachel you're right 300dpi is best but i read somewhere that LxW is to be used for printing, hope your canvass turn out fine.
