How to get this 3D effect.

January 1st, 2011
I tried out making 3D pictures, its really awesome! http://365project.org/veralynnds/365/2010-03-07 is my attempt. http://www.mineralarts.com/stereo/howto.html is a really good reference on taking the pictures, and http://www.scec.org/geowall/makeanaglyph.html is a good link of how to turn it into a stereoscopic image in photoshop.

I hope this helps :)

I have a friend that has a 3D rig. He has a tripod that holds two SLRs side by side, and he has the cameras linked so when he hits the shutter release on one, it fires the other. Then he has two lenses with the same focal length.

well, if you're not that picky on your camera options, you can do this 3D thing (and other stuff) using a toy camera called a pop 9. just follow the tip discussed here ( http://www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2009/06/14/tipster-of-the-week-photos-that-does-not-only-move-they-pop).
