How do I edit a photo to make it less blurry? What setting would be best to reduce that. I mainly take photo's of my 22 month old so I have it on the children/pets mode. This might not be the best. I always seem to miss great pictures or they just don't turn out right. I have a Cannon Powershot A3000. Thanks.
As far as I know blur is caused by movement of either the subject or the camera or both. Not sure if any setting us going to reduce it but have you tried sports mode - I use that when trying to catch my grandson who is constantly moving.
Some might be because of movement. But the one that made me want to post this she was standing still. Maybe I moved, I hadn't thought about that. I'll see if there is a sports mode and try that. Thanks.
Sometimes we are too close, sometimes we havent given the camera time to focus, sometimes I just talk out my backside and have no idea what Im saying...
I've found that many people don't know about or neglect to take advantage of the 'half-press'. Most, if not all, digital cameras will focus (depending on the mode you're in, of course) when you half-press the shutter. Then when you fully press the shutter, it will open/close the shutter (take the picture). You can effectively pre-focus using the half-press function and then fix your composition and/or steady yourself. Give it a try and see if that helps.
I should say, when you half-press, don't release (let go of) the shutter, instead hold the 'half-press' and then simply continue the press of the shutter. Practice on a still-life, then try it out on your child/pet.
Also, you might be moving the camera slightly when you press down on the shutter. I always try to tuck my elbows in to my sides, hold my breath and press slowly. Hope that helps!
