Sheep and manuka by dkbarnett

Sheep and manuka

Today I drove from Auckland to New Plymouth. This photo was taken from my car. I liked the way the sun was just hitting the top of the hill - plus the dotting of a few sheep. The trees are manuka. A very unobtrusive tree, but bees make extremely valued honey from its tiny flowers.
Perfect for black and white!

Great light. I love this especially in black and white. You sure get around the country.

Good light on the outlines of the sheep - trees - Kanuka or Manuka?

@olenadole @vignouse @littleconnie @dawnee @paul10 Thanks for your comments - really appreciated :-)
@kiwinanna Thanks Liana, yes this year so far has been extraordinary for not being home much - but hopefully that changes from now on in!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie - you could well be right and it could be kanuka, really not sure - it is quite tall though not too tall for manuka. Apparently though really common elsewhere kanuka is not so much in Taranaki, have no idea why.
