The road between Oakura and Russell was very pretty. We took a 17 km detour to visit Bland Bay. This was well worth it as it was beautiful. However driving back from Bland Bay we came around a corner to see a white horse with a young boy riding it - the late afternoon light on this sight was amazing, and I so wish that I had stopped. Forever, in my memory and not in my camera!!
