Sometimes you just feel blue,
A guiding light trying to fade
Or shining in the wrong place,
Indicating a direction, not an aim,
And the world is a bubble.
Then, unexpected, happiness on a wall.
Yes, you're right, ennui, is boredom, yet the word has many nuances, How could I forget our French teacher talking about ennui for a whole lesson? Start with boredom...and then consider some of these: world weariness, tedium, grief, worry, bother, troubles. You might find this phrase apposite: c'est à mourir d'ennui, it's enough to bore you stiff / to tears /to death. Have fun ;-)
@s4sayer thank you! You got it right - of course. It had been quite a gloomy week (misisng sorely my daughter left for a trip to celebrate her coming 18th birthday) when I stumbled into that graffiti and suddenly smiled. @777margo thank you very much!
Your process and poetic text are wonderful, Domenico. I really like this! I just read your comment about missing your daughter - thankfully she will have been back by now... although at her age now she will fly her own wings before you know it!
@kerosene Yes, luckily (for me...) it was not so long a trip (you know, she was out for studying English and German much longer in the last years, but always in kind of a "protected" environment, this was her first experience as a "lone" traveller... and I missed her so hard exactly because I know she is going to fly her own wings really soon...) Thank you very much for your kind words!
@domenicododaro oh!!! I know exactly what you mean about the 'protected' environment. It makes quite a difference! I think it's a hard challenge for us parents to 'let go'... :)
@kerosene It is! I wil do it, obviously, and just change again my life... Only, this time I know how it is going to be, I've been without children for a while!
