The polished stone shines smooth. A laurel wreath: leaves and berries two thousand years old. Good old times when you didn’t have a sell-by date...

Due to the current restrictions, to my HUGE backlog and to the recent development of a wonderful roll of film (Rollei retro 400) I resolved to take a fortnight off the TLOC service. The next two weeks will be film photos taken during the months of January and February 2020, all with the Leica R4 and the Summicron 50mm f:2. Let’s see where they will bring my storytelling.
Silly me, I almost destroyed the film when developing, as the film reel was broken and I scratched the emulsion badly. It took me an awful postproduction work to mend the scratches, but this film has such a wonderful greyscale I don’t mind!
Working with film is so satisfying and therapeutic, at least for me. I admire your courage. I do not have any chemistry at present but I just learned how to scan my large format negatives so I can plunder that archive soon, can't wait.
A wonderful capture with beautiful details. Looking forward to see what you have on film. Silly me was not even aware that there are photographers who still use film.
@overalvandaan I have some ready! @leonbuys83 Thank you very much! @lostphojo Too kind of you! @joysabin Isn’t it? I am watching tutorials on how to digitize film with my camera... @golftragic Thank you so much, Marnie, too kind of you! @ludwigsdiana Thank you very much, Diana, I do shoot regularly film, actually. I love the quality of the resulting images.
I've let my eyes pour over your image and the detail of it. 2000 years old...absolutely nothing as sophisticated and akin to this in our surroundings! "No sell by date..." details and numbers to ponder!
