Today is my father-in-law's 98th birthday. Thankfully we partied hard last year, days before we went into COVID lock-down. This year he was able to celebrate with only one person. Fortunately he was unaware it was his birthday and what we were all missing.
This is priceless! What a beautiful family. Those grandbuddies are simply adorable.
I just looked up and saw your comment about your father-in-law. Alzheimer's is such an insidious disease. It is heartbreaking to see someone lose their connection to self. I can't imagine the sadness and anguish.
@peggysirk Thank you Peggy. The grandkids have grown since this photo and we have missed out so much in one year. But fortunately we have all managed to keep safe except for my father-in-law who did contact Covid and thankfully survived. He received his vaccination last week. During one of our lockdowns we were not able to go in for 3 months. The only benefit of Alzheimers is that my father-in-law was not aware. It is very difficult as besides his mind he is in perfect health.
I came looking to see if you'd posted a photo of your grandchildren, and what a remarkably beautiful family reunion I found here!!! This photo is gorgeous, though I understand a year has been cancelled since this was taken! You have here, a treasure for all the family, and I felt relieved to read that your f-i-l survived the scourge of covid!
