2015 August 22: This is another bird observed during my recent Duck Pond excursion: the Greylag Goose.
This species is non-native and introduced in my region. They are native to Eurasia, North Africa, Greenland, the Middle East, continental Asia and Japan.
This particular Greylag is the only one of its species at the Duck Pond; it has been there for as long as I can remember...so I am always sure to look for it when I am there.
Great shot! The beautiful background really makes the duck stand out. I enjoyed your commentary. I've never heard of a Greylag before, and it is fun to be introduced to a new species. We live in such a beautiful world!
