2015 August 24: This evening a cold front came through my area; our low tonight is expected to be a chilly 56 degrees F. (If the conversion calculator that I use is correct, this is around 13 degrees C!). There is also a strong north/northwest wind blowing that makes it feel much colder.
Although I had to put on a jacket, the brisk summer coolness felt so exquisite that I went outdoors tonight to enjoy walking around my yard and taking some photos in an attempt to sharpen my night photography skills ...carefully watching for any passing coyotes, of course!
When I saw this solar light gleaming on my walk, I was enthralled by the starburst pattern made by its brilliant light shining against the texture of the weathered bricks. It was the perfect addition to a wonderful summer night.
@maggiemae Thanks! I live in north Alabama (US) out in the country. The city keeps growing closer and closer to us; as they do, the displaced wildlife has to find some place to go -- There is a wildlife sanctuary 3 miles up the road from my home and I believe a lot of the animals must pass through my neighborhood as they find their way there.
Good for you giving yourself assignments! Stay safe though- no lessons is worth being attacked by coyotes! Although I would imagine a light like this one keeps them a little bit at bay. Nice shot!
