Northern Cardinal

Day 335 of 365: Northern Cardinal

2015 December 1: We have experienced steady rain amid dark, dreary skies for several days now, so it was a treat to see this beautifully vibrant Northern Cardinal munching from the suet hanging from our deck. He certainly brightened up my day!

Rather than just posting the usual straight-out-of-camera photo today, I decided to add a textured background. The cardinal, leaves, and suet are untouched from the original photo; the background is a blend of textures.
I love the textures you added! Very creative! This image looks like a painting to me. I love the Cardinal's red and, also, the blue flowerpot. Cardinals do always brighten the day.

Thanks, Janet B! I did mean to mention: For anyone interested in working with textures, the ones that I used are freebies from Shadow House Creations by Jerry Jones ... http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.com/. He has some very nice work on his site!

What a beautiful bird. It must have cheered you up to see that splash of colour in the garden.

Well done...the background is lovely with the original sooc capture. A perfect shot of the lovely Cardinal. Wish we had them in the PNW. FAV

Nice job on the editing- it looks very natural. I love Cardinals too. I hope the pair I had last winter returns this year.
