2016.01.30 Saturday: Today was a gloriously warm day; in order to enjoy the day to its fullest, we decided to go on a picnic at a local wildlife refuge. While walking the trail there, I spotted this tiny bird flitting about ...At first I was unsure if he was a Golden-crowned kinglet or a Ruby-crowned, so I was delighted when he cocked his head so I was able to see glimmerings of his beautiful ruby crown.
I have so far not seen one of these birds with the crown raised, but from the photos that I have seen it is a beautiful sight!
I can imagine how excited you were with this sighting! What a thrill! Looks like he turned his head just to make your day, and you were ready with your camera at just the right moment. Well spotted and captured!
