2016.04.24 Sunday: Our favorite local garden center is still celebrating spring weekends by offering free freshly-smoked chicken and beverages on Sunday afternoons. They also had a petting zoo set up on the property, with goats, bunnies, and exotic types of chickens.
Intending to only buy a couple of vegetable plants for our garden, my husband and I dropped by in the early afternoon.
Although we arrived shortly after opening time, we found the garden center to be so busy that we actually had to wait for a parking space in their quite large lot! People were everywhere -- buying wagon loads of plants.
We snacked on delicious chicken and cola, and then headed across the beautifully-landscaped garden center to the vegetable greenhouse. I had only intended to buy a couple of tomato plants, but soon discovered that I had somehow loaded a cart of my own with not only vegetables, but a variety of petunias!
I am now officially running out of room to put any more plants, so I suppose I will have to stay away from the garden centers for a while!
