2016.05.15 Sunday: Continuing their Spring festivities, Bennett Nurseries teamed up with a local Bonsai Society for a bonsai display this weekend.
I doubt that I would have the patience to work with bonsai plants, but I like to admire the work that others have done ...so early in the afternoon we went to view the displays. It was fascinating to speak with enthusiastic Bonsai Society members and admire their awesome meticulous work ...They even had one plant that was 150 years old and had been "in training" for 40 years; another was 72 years old with 66 years in training!
I really enjoyed your commentary, which makes me appreciate the plants even more than ever before. We recently had a bonsai exhibit at nearby Phipps Conservatory, and the artistry was breathtaking. I had no idea then how long it took to create such masterpieces.
