2016.05.30 Monday: Years before I was born, one of my uncles lost his life in the Korean War. Uncle Charles' loss - and his life -- were always a topic on Memorial Day.
I understand what a serious day this is, as we honor those who lost their lives while serving in the military. However, it is also a day to honor them with celebration ...to celebrate their lives, their sacrifice, and their accomplishments.
Because of that, my family has established the tradition of cooking out on Memorial Day and holding a feast in honor of those who gave their lives so we would be free to celebrate. This was this evening's "celebration honor" meal.
