2016.09.08 Thursday: The autumn migration of the neo-tropical birds has recently begun for this year ...After a summer of seeing the exact same birds during my birding times each day, I am now seeing some different species migrating through my yard.
Some of my "winter" birds are now returning to my yard ...our fearless Carolina Chickadees, our quite-cheeky Carolina Wrens, and our beautifully-shy Tufted Titmice. (Although these are in my area year-round, for some reason these species disappear from my yard each summer!)
As an added bonus, our awesome Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are presently still here, although they will soon begin their long migration south over the Gulf of Mexico.
Today I added two more birds to my birding Life List: a Hooded Warbler, and this beautiful Blue-grey Gnatcatcher.
