2016.11.25 Friday: Although today is "Black Friday" for most people, after spending Thanksgiving Day with relatives my family has made a tradition of celebrating it as our second day of Thanksgiving. We smoked a turkey and prepared a feast of all of our favorite Thanksgiving holiday foods: cornbread stuffing, stuffed eggs sprinkled with paprika, mashed potatoes, rolls, corn, and cranberry sauce. Everyone pitched in to prepare the food; it was fun cooking together.
We had a wonderful time of feasting and talking with each other around our dining table, enjoying just being together as a family. It was refreshing to look back over our past year and thank God for all His goodness to us.
After focusing on gratitude for this second day of Thanksgiving, this evening we began putting up our Christmas tree -- moving seamlessly into our next wonderful season of celebration!
