2017.02.26 Sunday: Today was a wonderfully cool day with an abundance of glittering sunshine, so shortly after lunch today Scott, Matthew, and I decided to walk Wade Mountain Greenway, which is just up the street from our home. It starts off as a nice level paved 1-mile trail -- so we went expecting to just walk that portion.
After we got there, however, we decided to hike some of the trails past the paved walk -- We ended up hiking 8 miles of trails up and down large hills, traversing over rocks and creeks and tree roots, and climbing over and under fallen trees!
Near the top was a wonderful view overlooking beautifully green country fields, neatly-spaced neighborhoods, and the nearby Industrial Park.
This feat was special for me, as I was much too ill to even walk 1 mile this past summer while the weather was so scorching hot. I am well now, but I haven't attempted anything near this strenuous since last summer. Today was proof for me of God's goodness to me and my family!
Note: Normally I would find the utility lines distracting and would crop them out of the pic, but in this instance I left them because these are the lines that I can see from my house, so I wanted to leave them for context.
Great photo and accomplishment. I don't go over rocks or anything else - a few years ago I tried and it was a disaster as I kept falling. I am glad you are much better now.
Looks and sounds like a fabulous day! Congratulations on your accomplishment...I'm happy to hear that you're doing much better now. Yes, God is so good!
An 8th of a mile would be a huge success right now, so I am thankful that the Lord has seen fit to bring you to such good health! God is certainly good to us- beyond what we could ever ask or imagine! Nice shot.
