2017.12.30 Saturday: We have been experiencing near-record low temperatures lately, so these pots of mixed flowers at Adtran are a welcome sight!
In addition to choosing cold-weather plants, I believe that they also have heating cables to keep the roots of the plants from freezing. I am glad that they do this, as I enjoy their flower pots even more in winter than I do in summer!
Hope these beauties don't get frosted! Seems like the cold weather is hitting the South too. Our temperature right now is -12 and that is not with the wind chill! (I'm in Iowa)
Wow! I've never heard of heating cables to keep the roots from freezing...what a terrific idea! These flowers are so beautiful and it's especially nice seeing them in the winter, as you mentioned in your narrative. Our temperatures have been extremely low here in Texas also. It's below freezing right now and our lows are predicted to stay below freezing through Friday, which is highly unusual for us.
