Ship out of water

This is the TSS Duke of Lancaster. She's beached near Mostyn docks on the River Dee, N.Wales. It's possible to get a lot closer to her than this to take photos. I did, but the whacky composition of this one appealed to me. If you'd like to know more about her, there's some info. here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSS_Duke_of_Lancaster_%281956%29
hmmm...that is very interesting. When I saw this I was thinking the creek is a bit small for such a large boat!! lol A hotel would be a neat idea.

@elzibell Trouble is, the only access to it is through that archway on the right. I had to bend over to walk through and I'm only 5' 3" ! No room for cars, either. Bit of a non-starter :-D

Yes I agree, the unexpected foreground make it an unusual shot.

My first thought was also that they will never get that up that stream and under that bridge.

Gotta agree with the others. When I first saw it I wondered how it would ever get down that itty bitty stream. Did you ever think of shooting from the stream with the bridge (?) framing the ship? Even so, you bring back memories of another day. Unfortunately, this rust bucket was not so long ago.

@tobe Nice idea but shots using the bridge weren't possible for various reasons. I did get some more conventional pics. closer to the ship but this rather oddball shot appealed to my oddball sense of humour :-D
