I made my way home today. There should have been a shot taken at a stop along the way, or something I did once I got home but someone rear-ended my car at a set of traffic lights on the way back, so I didn't really feel up to camera things.
Fortunately, no-one was hurt, although I was very shaken and now feel rather beaten up. The car was still driveable and once I'd been checked over by a paramedic and he'd stayed with me until he was satisfied I was sufficiently calm and compos mentis, I drove on home. He also pulled out the part of the rear apron that had dented in towards the wheel, so that it wouldn't rub the tyre! He was absolutely brilliant and I'm so very grateful to him.
So this is a shot taken on Tuesday and like the fern leaf it was caught in the sunlight shining through a venetian blind. It's one of several little butterfly hair clips being used to tie a plant stem to a supporting cane. Rather an ingenious use for them, I thought. It was a pretty, see-through, peachy pink but light like that just cries out for black and white.

So sorry to hear about the accident and glad that you're ok. Happened to me more than once! I think this is a good idea for a butterfly shot since i can never get the butterfly to stand still for me!
So sorry to hear of your troubles today. That's got to shake you up - more so later on. You were marvelous to even think of getting this neat picture - and I think that's a fantastic use for those clips. You're clever!
Alison, I am sorry to here about the accident. What a bummer! I get so upset with people who follow close. I'm happy to hear you're OK, that's the main thing. Clever idea for a shot and very well done!
Hope you are better. That was an unfortunate thing to happen to your car. I like this creative shot and the light you gave it.
I got rear ended when I was in high school and out on a date. The front seat we were in ended up in the back seat and I have neck problems a lot from the whip lash still.
So glad you are ok after this nasty accident. These things do so shake you up. Have been looking through your lovely photos. Have been to Hampton Court many times as a child, nice to see it again.
nice image BTW
I love this shot. Beautiful lighting.
