Many, many thanks for the views, smashing comments and favs for The Fountain - I was bowled over by the response!
We had a frost overnight so I spent some time in the garden this morning taking shots of it on leaves, twigs and the like but wasn't happy with the way the compositions turned out.
A couple of blackbirds were feeding from the fallen apples and this very bold little chap let me get within a few feet of him. He and his chums come and gorge on the apples every day and there's little left except the skins now. Presumably they're too tough for a bird to eat.
Two observations :
Neoprene foam flip-flops keep your feet surprisingly warm when walking through and standing on frosty grass.
Frosted grass is quite spiky and sharp :-)

Lovely capture of this bird - I can't believe you went outside in any sort of flip flops. My feet have been cold all day in thermal socks and shoes! Nice that the birds have got the apples to eat though. Blackbirds and thrushes love fruit. I haven't got apple trees so I put sultanas out for them and its costing me a fortune!
Lovely shot. He still has his eye on you though. Sharp capture of him and the black feathers such a good contrast against the colourful fruit. Flip Flops! There's brave!!!
